Who we are

Whitehorse Activities Club is an Incorporated Association operating on a not-for-profit basis and trading as Whitehorse Activities Club Inc. The Club operates within the City of Whitehorse and the surrounding suburbs. The Club was established to provide activities for people approaching retirement or who are retired. It aims to encourage them to maintain their physical and mental health and to establish and maintain social contact with other people of similar age and similar stage of life.

Website Access

This website has been established to promote the Whitehorse Activities Club to the wider community and to invite enquiries, membership applications and feedback.

Through a member's only section, club information is provided to keep members up-to-date on club business. No public access is granted.

What personal data is collected

Members details are kept while a person is a member. Once that person leaves the Club all personal information is deleted. 

Who may see your data

Members personal data and information entered by visitors to the website will only be used by the club officals to maintain its membership records, payment of subscriptions and  to respond to visitors requests. No data is shared with any third party.

What rights you have over your data

If you are a member of the Club,  you can request a copy of the personal data the Club holds about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data the Club are obliged to keep for administrative, insurance, legal, or security purposes.

Your contact information

Contact information is maintained by the club in its membership database for the purpose of club administration, insurance and communication.

How we protect your data

The Club's website is protected by sophisticated internet security software to which the Club subscribes. Only elected club office bearers have access to data stored on the membership database. This access is used  in the management of the Club and is strictly protected by passwords. Access to the database is restricted according to a need to know basis. 

What data breach procedures we have in place

In the unlikely event of a suspected data breach the Club would sever our internet connection immediately and evaluate any breach. The Club  would determine if any data has been compromised and determine the appropriate action to further protect the Club’s data. The Club would endeavour to remedy any loss or alteration of data and to inform any individuals whose personal data may have been impacted.

What third parties we receive data from

Our Club receives data from banks and other financial organisations in relation to subscription payments made by members. The only information the club receives is the member's name which has already been provided by the member. 

What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data

The Club does not employ any automated decision making or profiling of member's data.
